MIDNIGHT BLUE EQUESTRIAN
Lunging (with or without aids)
£25 - 30 Mins
Our grooms can lunge your horse to improve fitness or to help with recovery. Lunging is a great way to improve a horses overall physics fitness. Using aids, we can increase the working capacity of the muscles to help with recovery or to burn excess fat.
Long Reining
£30 - 30 Mins
The main benefit of long-reining over lunging is that we can work your horse in a straight line, plus we can long-rein in an arena or around tracks or fields. It’s a great way to introduce a horse to new things and a nice way to add variety to a horse’s training. Alongside this it can improve a horses confidence to be out in front.
Free-Lunging / Jumping
£30 - 30 Mins
Free reining & jumping gives a horse a slight portion of freedom to make decisions for itself. By adopting this method, we aim to teach a horse to obey commands and listen. By using different voice tones & pitches we can introduce new methods to calm or instruct your horse. It is also a great way for your horse to burn excess fat and also improve its physical fitness.
Section A
Section A is training a horse in an environment they recognise such as your own school or field. We will start with soft touch points such as ears, armpits, legs. We will then introduce items such as clippers and items that are unusual (pool noodle) and slowly desensitise the horse. Once the horse is comfortable with these, we will move onto section B.
Section A is all about making the horse as comfortable as possible and introducing new items that may be scary. It is also to help desensitise to things such as clippers that feel strange & have a weird noise.
Usually takes around 3-5 sessions (1/2 per week)
Section B
Section B is introducing items such as bicycles, vehicles, water, narrow spaces, animals, loud noises, whips and foreign objects. We use a range of schooling, long reining and owner riding sessions to help desensitise the horse and educate the owners on how to handle a scary situation.
This section is designed to help a horse become less scared of items that are common when being ridden or walked outside of the yard such as on the roads or fields.
Usually takes around 5 sessions (1/2 per week)
Section C
Section C is working with the owner to help educate them and also put together an ongoing schedule for them to continue. Each schedule is completely bespoke to the horse and owner. We will tailor it around your situation to help ensure you can continue to desensitise your horse.
Our team will be available or any questions, we advise a 6 month check in so we can see how you are getting on and if you have any ongoing issues, we can assist you.
